- Meat Processing and Packaging Plant Workers
- Livestock Workers
- Poultry Catchers and Processors
- Fish and Seafood Processing Plant Workers
The program is designed to help employers fill labour shortages in the agriculture and food processing sectors. It is also intended to help employers recruit and retain foreign workers who have the skills and experience needed to fill these positions.
To be eligible for the Agri-Food Immigration Pilot, employers must meet certain criteria. They must demonstrate that they have been unable to fill the position with a Canadian citizen or permanent resident through the Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) process, and they must also demonstrate that they have taken steps to recruit and retain Canadian citizens and permanent residents.
