International Experience Canada (IEC) is a program that allows young people from around the world to come to Canada and gain valuable work experience. The program is open to citizens of certain countries, including Australia, Austria, Belgium, Chile, Costa Rica, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Korea, Latvia, Lithuania, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Ukraine, United Kingdom, and the United States.
The IEC program is divided into three categories: Working Holiday, Young Professionals, and International Co-op Internship. Each category has its own eligibility requirements and application process.
The Working Holiday category is for people aged 18-35 who want to come to Canada for a short-term work experience. Participants in this category can stay in Canada for up to 12 months and work in any job they choose.
The Young Professionals category is for people aged 18-35 who want to come to Canada to gain work experience in their field of study. Participants in this category can stay in Canada for up to two years and must have a job offer from a Canadian employer.
The International Co-op Internship category is for people aged 18-35 who want to come to Canada to gain work experience related to their field of study. Participants in this category can stay in Canada for up to 12 months and must have a job offer from a Canadian employer.
